What is Distracted Driving?Distracted Driving happens when a driver's attention is somewhere other than on the road. There are 3 categories of Distracted Driving:
1. Manual- a driver taking his hands off the wheel (dialing a phone, texting) 2. Visual- a driver looking away from the road (dialing a phone, texting) 3. Cognitive- a driver's brain engaged in a phone conversation instead of what is happening on the road. (dialing a phone, texting, and hand's free style phone) Using a cell phone while operating a vehicle is a serious, life-threatening habit that is dangerous for everyone on the road. |
